PostSubject: Illumination   Illumination EmptySat Oct 08, 2011 1:57 pm

I stared into the sun, and then I stared into the Son
The light could not be reversed, the light could not be undone
The darkness tried to fight it, but was quickly overrun
as one by one...infinite days have begun

The light glowed, it took hold
a feeling of love...uncontrolled
No longer was I empty, no longer was I cold
The light was a recital that was waiting to be told

It was the story of living, the story of dying
A tale of children laughing and of mourning mother's crying
Of lost souls being sold, of the soul-collectors buying
A snake about to strike and a dove forever flying

The snake controlled my mind, while my heart went to the dove
One unleashed hate and pain, the other only love
The snake dragged me towards hell, the dove pulled me up above
The battle rages to this day, a war I've never dreamed of

For I was blinded in the darkness, where every day is night
The snake's puppet on a string, too weak to put up a fight
But my life has many chapters, unwritten, so I write
The illumination brought salvation, the illumination of the light

Love the contrasts and comparisons you used in this one. Well done.

Right on! The majority of my rhymes come from either one line that pops into my head, or crazy dreams I've had. This one is from a craaazy dream.

This is really awesome, as I read I rapped it and sang it! Would make a great song either way.

Not one to sing or rap, but I know what I like, and I really like this one. Keep up the good work.

God bless and keep you
