| The Lighthouse

The lighthouse stood tall and proud
In the distance of my mind
Seems like it had been there forever
It was one of a kind.
It kept me from wrecking my ship of life
By steering me away from the rocky shores
Where my life would have been left in tatters
And filled with scars and sores
As the lighthouse stood there
With its light of life
It was bright enough to burn away the strife
It kept me safe through all the storms
Because I kept my eyes upon the lighthouse in my mind.
