JUST A THINKIN’

I sat here just a thinkin

While it was late at night

How the stars were oh so pretty

And the moon was really bright.

God in all His wisdom

Made the earth a wondrous place

What a world to live in

He gave us by His grace.

And I was just a thinkin

What God had done for me

And I thought I ought to thank Him

For He had set me free.

As I set there thinkin

All sorts of thoughts went through my mind

About all my family and friends

And hoped they weren’t left behind.

Then I got to thinkin

A prayer probably wouldn’t hurt

So right then and there

I knelt down in the dirt.

I prayed for many things

Prayed all through the night

I prayed for everyone and everything I was thinkin about

I prayed straight thought til daylight.

Then I got to thinkin

He knows what’s in my heart

Maybe some things would change

If I would just do my part.
