A Silly One Mom on Strike

Of course I would never do this...LOL

Mom on Strike

There was a solemness in the neighborhood
That had not been seen before
Husbands gathered together
In groups of three and four.

It was a horrible day for them
They raised their eyebrows in shock
And gave their condolences to
The saddest man on the block!

His wife had declared that week
Suddenly and out of the blue
That she was no longer working
And what things she would not do!

Things would have to change said she
The hired help was starting to roar
The carpet tread under foot
This mom would be no more!

The dishes sat in the dishwasher
With the dirty ones in the sink
And as far as laundry....
Well, the hamper was starting to stink...

The rugs were furry with dust bunnies
And the flowers in the pots began to die
And our mom sat there thinking
That he would notice by and by....

The beds were not made
And errands were not run
And if mamma's not happy
No one is ....not one!

By day number two
And day number three
Dad found out
How miserable it could be.

So Mom is on strike
And is carrying her sign
She is a demonstrater
Walking the line.

Not one mom will cross it
Not one wife will say
That a mommy's day should be
All work and no play!

So jump in now hubbies
And help out your spouse
Or the Picket line could be forming
Right outside your house.....

LOL, I especially appreciate that last stanza, very cute. Thankfully, I have a very helpful hubby, love him to pieces.

Me too Lora, but there has been 46 years of training (for both of us) involved. LOL

My friend and I were talking about how glad we were that we found our hubbies when we were young and that we were raised with the same values.
