It's Raining in Sunny California

It's raining in sunny California-
At least they say that's rain
I remember seeing it before
But thought not to see it again.

I recognize water in the ocean
And I know water's in the bay
But water falling from the sky?
That doesn't happen every day!

It's raining in sunny California
And the dogs are both confused
They don't know the thrill of puddles
And wading without shoes.

There are puddles in the driveway
And the patio furniture is wet
The flowers are drinking in the moisture
As if they never want to forget.

It's raining in sunny California
And I jest when I say it is so rare
As to have no memory of it in my head
I do remember that the sound of rain
Is so sweet when you can go back to bed!

LOL. I know the feeling neighbor. What a beautiful rain we had yesterday! My kitties were curious too, but not for long. The minute water touched their paws they ran back inside and stood by the big glass doors just watching it pour.
