Sending VacationPostcards
(in the 1960's)

We sent some postcards when traveling
To tell family and everyone,
Just how awesome our vacation was
And that we were having fun!

We religiously sent those cards
No matter how busy we got,
No matter if it meant going out in the cold
Or when the day was quite hot!

We thought of all the joy they would bring
And that kept us doing the task,
Thinking how it would save us time,
And the questions they wouldn't have to ask.

Finally our plane landed,
And we made our way home,
Calling our friends to tell them
From the airport's pay telephone.

We were so happy to hear each voice,
And know that they missed us a bunch
Our family stopped and picked up all that mail
As they came to meet us for lunch
