So many ideas seem good to me, but how many of them ever set me free
Could it be that I know the answers, that I point to the light like the Tropic of cancer
Can I create meaning and reality's rules, is this the wisdom of man or just suffering fools
It's materialism, just goin' for self, but if life is fleeting what's the point of wealth
This must be hell, but eternity beckons, I lost faith in man and from this I reckon
Points to resurrection, and the truth of Jesus, our good and bad the Father sees us
And yet it pleases, so HE sends HIS grace, I'm outta control, please set my pace
And I will face, and repent my nature, I'm gambling my soul and it's a costly wager

But the spirit speaks, can't deny conviction, my head and my heart in constant confliction
I was so smart, knew what was right, so why'd I battle guilt each and every night
The human plight, and the evil of man, what God is this that made this plan
Now I understand HE gave us a choice and if the heart is soft you can hear HIS voice
Loud and clear rings in my ears, HE was pained by my deeds but HE shared my tears
Thru the years HE was always there, and even though I didn't, HE always cared

Shrouded darkness and veil of night perception is reality so I seek light
Still I fight 'cause my ego's tricksy, the devil knows this and he must miss me
Constantly at me with lies and deceit, but the spirit sings a song so sweet
Tap my feet to the tune of creation, the signature's there, speaks of HIS causation
In every nation they seek some truth, but Jesus Christ offered the only proof
Don't be aloof, time to take a stand, 'cause if you fall, you won't like where you land
Follow self or man, you've a fool for a master, keys to the kingdom ain't no church or pastor
What's HE after, for us to be like HIM, if God don't exist then why do we fight HIM

I so love the chorus, and the message is perfect for all of us struggling with unemployment! It really puts things into perspective.

this would do well at an open mic., many rappers had their beginnings at open mic. poetry readings and still participate in these venues. every time i've read your work i've visualized it being read in this type of venue.

WOW...this poem/song lyrics is very deep. I can relate a lot to these lyrics. I do also know that God can heal brokeness, take on lies and trade them for truths! You are a warrior for God!
