You are With Me

I know that you are no longer here
On this earthly plane—
No longer can I see your face,
And no longer hear you speak my name.

You cannot hold my hand now
And comfort my distress,
Or do those wonderful fatherly things
That you did the best.

There are no more calls on the phone
To hear that awesome sound,
The booming voice that says hello
In which my comfort often times was found.

But somehow I feel your presence
A gift from God above,
For surrounding me forever
Is the memory of your love.
