Takers

I can’t stand on street corners like others can

And I’m not goofy enough to fool Uncle Sam

So I guess I’ll just have to get a job

Because neither can I steal and rob.



We all need money in these hard times

Sometimes we have to count our pennies and dimes

It could be the way we live that’s to blame

And some of us just have no shame.



There are givers and takers in our world today

I’d rather be a giver than a taker any day

So I have to do as best as I can

And live according to God’s plan.



If that means doing without some things

Then that is what my life just brings

Things are not what its about

God is what we are to shout.



There are some things you don’t think is a sin

Being a glutton is one of them;

If you take and take and never give

Then I say you don’t know how to live.



If you’re a moocher and always take

Then that’s a sin and you’re a fake

Read your Bible and you will see

Loving and giving is what you should be.



If you take and take and never give

People won’t know how real Christians live

Its not just money, its love and time

If you don’t give your self it’s a crime.

Agreed! It's so appropriate for the times we live in now.
