I Want Too

I’ve done my very best
To tell all the rest
What God has done for me.

He died on the cross
That was a great loss
But it saved my life.

I’ve been close to death
He restored my breath
And gave me one more chance.

He has given me many blessings
I can’t count, I’m guessing
I’d say it’s a million or more

He gives me things to do
That I don’t know I can
Until He shows me how
Then there I am.

Each thing that comes along
That he wants me to do
He doesn’t just tell me to do it
He makes me want to do it too.

God is the ruler of my world
And I love Him above all else
He knew all about me before I was born
He gave me His life so now I give Him mine.

I love the way you pour your heart into your work. I especially loved this stanza:

That he wants me to do
He doesn’t just tell me to do it
He makes me want to do it too.

Isn't it cool that He does that for us?! It reminds us writers that He put this desire to write into our hearts, because that's what He wants us to do. Great work!

Thanks. Pouring my heart into my poems is the only way I know how to write. God gives me the words, I just write them down for Him.
