Transposition

As a sunlit day was stolen by night,
Eternally present shone God's own light,
As death became life and fear became hope,
The fallen were given a scarlet-corded rope.

Dust became clay molded by His hand.
Clay became concrete, firm in faith's stance.
Boy became man because Man became boy,
Something consumed nothing. Grief fell to joy.

The First became Last for the last to be first,
A seed was sown for eternal rebirth.
Worthlessness became, in a permanent exchange,
Worthiness, God's plan inscribed on a page
Of paper, which, once was a tree,
The tree of life who died, for you and for me.

In a sweet transposition, celestially designed,
Carnality was repositioned. We were given the divine.
