Stared into a mirror too long
looked you in the face
and was frozen
saw learned behaviors
saw disgrace
ashamed
of the paths previously chosen
tried to set those sights
on a better place

down for a good while
unable to smile
wicked and vile
slowly going insane
set those sights
on a higher plane

woke up one day
in colors
background of
monochromatic light
greeted by two eagles
by Divine intervention
return of sight
the world
had labeled us insane
set those sights
on embracing
a God given name

tried to change the world around without first purging the world from within
grappling with You in transition was futility, set those sights on opening a mind to a
Teacher

Letting You in
surrender
in the heat
of "The Way"
the fatted calf
was rendered

at the joyous feast
a smile reset
a mind reset
a heart reset
an offer…
brokenness
to kneel at Your Cross

if You will have us
to serve You?
You are the only answer
to all having lived without
in a time
when thought was considered clever

"i believe, help my unbelief"
take away
any and all hidden doubt
please be a guiding strength
to undertake a bold new
"endeavor"

if it please Thy Majesty
then it would please us too
if it be Thy Will
might we be Your's
now and forever?
