A Modern Valentine for Hubby

I made a Valentine for my Sweetheart
But my printer lost its connection
And I had not purchased flowers
Nor any boxes of confection
So I pulled it up on my ipad
And as I gave him a sweet embrace
I put that ipad right in front of his cute face!

Be My Valentine When We Are Old and Gray

Will you be my Valentine
When we are old and gray?
I know the answer my sweetheart
For you are still here today.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
They gave up high heels and fancy duds
For a comfortable shoe.

Their eyes once so blue and bright
And full of love's shining light
Can't see well enough
To drive too far late at night.

No more stocking with designs for her
Which would be in vain
Their beauty would be overtaken
BY the design of a varicose vein.

No more barber shops for him
That do those fancy trendy styles
Once he gets that white fringe trimmed
He is again all smiles.

Her once thin frame so hot
Waist encircled with tight sashes
Has been taken over
By hotness which comes in flashes.

Their smiles once so dazzling
Still glisten in the sun
Or at least they will
When that bridgework is done...

But they sit contentedly by the fire
And chat and laugh together
Now retired and free from work’s stress
They don’t mind a bit of stormy weather.

The changes have come slowly over the years
And are not something that they hate
Each day of being with each other
Is a day to celebrate.

A bit of chubbiness
or thinning of the hair
Is not something to fret about-
Not a legitimate reason for despair.

They have learned so much
Through their years together
And joy in each other they find
Never wanting anyone else
As their Valentine!

That is so sweet! It made me chuckle, smile, and feel warm all over.

P.S. Wasn't that ipad a Christmas present? He was certainly rewarded for giving that gift!
