You know you are getting old
(If I might be so bold)
When at night your feet get cold
And you need your special socks
To keep them warm as toast,
But the thing that frustrates the most
Is the way your eyes grow dimmer
And your bod does not grow slimmer
But at least you cannot efficiently see
How expansive it has come to be.
One pair of glasses will suffice no longer
You need more pairs and lenses much stronger
In fact one for almost everything you do
And of course each year they must be new!
Eventually will come the day
When "Cataracts" they say
And you will have those rascals cut away
Replaced with a lens to help you see
The world again as it was meant to be!
At first your frameless eyes will seem nude
But eventually you say"Dude! I like this better every day
And that feeling that you've forgotten to dress your eyes
Will have gone away!
