She's an Artist (about daughter when she was two)

She's an Artist

Missy is an artist
She drew on the wall
She even signed her name
On her artwork in the hall.

She proudly showed it to her dad
Who admired it, then began to explain
How though we admired her talent
Her work could not remain.

We gave her some cleaning stuff
And put her to the task
Erasing all of the loveliness
"Why?" we heard her ask.

Now she has lots of paper
On which to hone her artistic skill
And after yesterday's cleaning task
Use the paper, I believe she will!

"I LOVE Mommy and Daddy"
With a drawing of her family
Stick figures with oblong bodies
Done of course in black marker
To insure it would remain
On the hallway unharmed for ages.
One would have to paint over it
Again and again
This war on black marker to win.
But given cleaning tools
That could be held in two year old hands
The clearing of the wall began
And our help was offered
When tiny hands had done all they could do.

Reminded me of how God teaches us
Through our mistakes
How he gives us the time and tools we need
In order to succeed
And He is there lifting us up when we tire
And does not hold against us
What it took for us to learn the lesson
But instead we have His blessing.

Sniff. Allergies, I think.

Our daughter learned to write LOVE very early because being far away from our families she saw us write letters and wanted to know what the words were and want they meant.

My mom was "Dear Dear" because she learned that letters started with the word Dear. Mom loved being Dear Dear. I wish she could have watched Melissa grow up into the wonderful woman she is. But Mom went home at 60.

That's is so precious. My friend's son had to write a letter to his mother for school about how great he thinks she is, and he said that his mom was great like a gerbil. Unfortunately, people are now calling her GiGi.

LOL I love it. My niece calls me CAT (crazy aunt Thena) because when we get together we get so silly and I love it!
