Mom TOld Me

Mom told me when I was a teen
(And back when "I knew it all"
That times were coming
That would be trying indeed
And to trust God for my every need.
I listened to her and thankfully
God helped me store in my heart
Each thing Mom taught me-
Every single part
For her wisdom came from God's Word
And we know He blesses
What we have heard.
She spoke of the times that we are in now
And said that God would get us through them
Somehow.
She turned the channel on the TV
If there were things kids shouldn't see
To protect our minds from clutter
Even though sometimes a mild protest
We kids felt obliged to mutter.
I know that were she alive on this earth today
Not a single thing would surprise her
For it was prophecy she studied and she knew
That these things would come to pass
For God's Word is true.
We are not to give in and give up
But to carry on and do what is right
Live the good life and fight the good fight.
And When God comes and takes us Home
There will be no more sorrow and no more night.

To be blessed with a Mom like that is Gods gift to our lives
They model Jesus in so many ways

For her wisdom came from God's Word

My mom was just like that when I was growing up. She was strict and very loving. Somehow the strict part mysteriously vanished when the grand kids showed up. My kids think I was so lucky to have such a nice mom. I have to agree with them, but if they only knew the spankings she used to hand out...
