Angels in the sky

Sometimes I see the angels in the sky
Sometimes sunshine makes me fly
Sometimes God’s presence is nigh
And still I am left wondering why.

Sometimes I’m so cold I can’t even cry
Sometimes my life’s contained in a sigh
Sometimes all the colours slip on by
But always I am wondering why

Sometimes all of my prayers cannot pry
An answer from my God on high
All my words are ill formed and die
Sometimes I give up wondering why

Sometimes the refreshing Word is dry
Sometimes my best is a feeble try
At times all my living does glorify
Even then I am left to wonder why

Sometimes my love feels like a lie.
And unrequited, in my minds eye
Yet I believe my God will sanctify
On that day I will no longer ask why

Why do the angels sing only in the sky
Why does the music of life pass me by
Why does this God so mystify
Or is it sin clouding my eye.
