It amazes me that in every stage of life, our God is looking for us! My heart was touched as I wrote this song, inspired by a conversation I had with a good friend of mine, and the verse below. What a great God we serve! I am so thankful He looks for me and draws me unto Himself.
Jeremiah 31:3
The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
He Looks For Me
Running faster than the speed of sound
Dodging trees as they hit the ground
The storm outside is raging
Showing sin I must be facing
Wind blows harder than I can recall
The walls around me break and fall
The storm outside is raging
But my God seeks embracing
With arms outstretched
He looks for me
To break the chains
That imprison me
My God loves unconditionally
And He waits for me so patiently.
Oh my God loves,
Oh my God loves.
Changing my course as I turn around
escaping the fire that surrounds
The flames are never ending
And I have quit pretending
The fire howls as I run to You
Telling me that I’ll never do
The day seems to be breaking
My God remains unshaken
With arms outstretched
He looks for me
To quench the flames
That torment me
My God loves unconditionally
And He waits for me so patiently.
Oh my God loves,
Oh my God loves.
A brand new life is given to me
To serve my God while worshipping
The Son that was given
But His life wasn’t taken
Sacrificing upon that cross
Is where my savior paid the cost
In the storm that was raging
Against my sin, he was taking.
With arms outstretched
He looks for me
To save my soul
And ransom me
My God loves unconditionally
And He waits for me so patiently.
Oh my God loves,
Oh my God loves.
With arms outstretched
He looks for me
To worship Him
on bended knee
My God loves unconditionally
And He waits for me so patiently.
Oh my God loves,
Oh my God loves.
