| If you wait to say you love me 'til the morning dawn
it's too late to say you love me...I'm already gone
The things you didn't say are the things that I heard
and though your mouth never moved, I could hear every word
and I know that you knew when I walked out that door
that I'd be back in the morning like all the times before
because walking away always helped the situation
and it eased the hurt and it eased the frustration
because those are causes of the things we say
only this time it was different, it didn't go that way
and I know you were mad and that I caused you pain
but I bet you didn't think when I took off in the rain
that my mind was racing and my heart was broken
and through the sounds of twisted metal I heard words unspoken
and I'm sorry that I argued and I'm sorry for the fight
and I bet you didn't know that I died last night
