Christians in more than 200 nations will gather in their
churches and homes May 27 to pray for their countries.
The annual Global Day of Prayer is held on Pentecost Sunday,
and this year marks the 11th anniversary of the event.
Thousands will gather at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town,
South Africa -- the site of the first Global Day of Prayer.
Organizers say they desire to see the fulfillment of the
scripture verse Habakkuk 2:14, "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge
of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea."
