Can you hear me?
I cry, I call, I plead.
Can you hear me?
My pain really is real.
It's undeniable, if only to me.
I can't expect you to understand.

Have you been there?
Describe it, then.

I understand, you're being nice.
No offence, I don't want nice.
I want relief.
Can you hear me?
When I spend all night choking back the feelings
That want to explode to the surface
And make a mockery of that which I try to be
Can you hear me?
Walking in my solitude of loneliness
Hoping the rain of tears will wash me with relief
To be able to have a moment of peace
Away from my internal conflict.
Can you hear me?

God hears
No matter what or where
He hears
The tiniest whisper
Of a prayer.
