Aside from all the bling blang one hears, and all the "scripture" quotes, let's get real and explore ourselves. It's easy to be spiritual in a church setting, around others, listening to uplifting messages or music, but when you're all alone, for awile or a long period of time, what does it take to remain spiritual and on the ready when God wants to use you? Paul writes, "Those things that I would do I don't. And those things I don't want to do I do" And he is credited with raising dead folk, so what is my position, and how do I stay prepared?

Yes, that is something that I, and I think every Christian, really struggles with. Dying to self is a difficult task, but we might also ask ourselves, "Are we letting ourselves get discouraged and be continually unsatisfied, or are we able to enjoy the process of our growth in the Lord?"

Lora I think that is the key, just keep growing. We have many struggles, Jesus doesn't want us to dwell in regret and guilt, but to learn and move forward towards HIM. I struggle quite often but HE never struggles with me, HE just keeps holding me and loving me.

Had an interesting talk with a friend today concerning our growth. He used to own a fitness club, had a car accident and is now a quadripledgic. He says he woudn't change a thing, cause adversity is what draws us closer to Him. We talked about Jacob and the wrestle with the angle who broke his thigh bone, the toughest bone in the body to break. It was done so Jacob could have a name change, to Israel. He had to have a makeover done so God could use him how He wanted to. Same with us, but are we willing to let God do what is necessary to turn us into a worthy vessel?

I remember struggling with that question for a long time. I had already been through so much and I had to honestly ask myself, "Was I willing to go through more for the Lord if that's what he felt was necessary for me?" I finally agreed that , yes, I would, because the Lord is perfect and knows what's best for us. He never gives us more than we can handle out of His love for us, and he will hold us up through it all. In the end, we will be blessed from it more than we can imagine.

when you chase the word 'Amen' to it's roots, it means 'Let it be so'. A powerful statement by itself, more so when we are able to absorb the fullness of what it is capable of doiing in our lives, also. The price paid, both by Jesus before us, and what would be required of us, should give us pause for careful consideration, but yes, He trusts us alot, cause He knows what is in us, if we are His child, and therefor should not be surprised at both what we are asked to do and bear in the process.
