Inspirational and Faith Poetry

This be the truth in the words that I speak
Yes I went to college
And yes, I got some knowledge
Though that is only where the story begins
See most of my life had been spent in sin
Achieving most daily practicalities
My soul lacked any spirituality
Jumping for denomination to denomination
I felt I didn’t belong to any nation
So I focused on the physical things
Traded in my new pair of wings
Then there were all those years I spent in vice
It is true in deed that I know sacrifice
See I once had two kids a dog and a wife
But that was another life
Admitting to myself that there was something inside
I had been running from all my life and trying to hide
Finally I had got knocked down to my knees
Then I found a new person to please
In my heart and mind is where he resides
It is the Holy Spirit of The Christ and I spit you no jive
