Wasteland

My mind is like a vast wasteland
Just waiting to be filled
With all the things Jesus wants me to know he has planned
So my wisdom can be more skilled.

I try to read my Bible more so I can understand
Just what He went through when He was but a man.
He had to be born to earth to die for me and you.
I wish I had known him then maybe I would know what to do.

Things are not always what they seem to be
It depends on how we look to see
Do we look through our Saviors Eyes?
Or are we ever that wise?

Fill your mind with God and love
And thoughts will come to you from above
Wisdom, grace, comfort, and peace
You will get them all and find release.

Pray each day for loving grace
That you might one day look upon his face
And see the love He has for you
He will fill your mind with loving too.

Don’t let your mind and soul go to waste
That would be in very poor taste.
Let God reside in your heart and mind
Then in the Book of Life you name will be signed.

Amen! Very nice work Miss Cleo. I just love your heart. My favorite stanza in this one was the following:

Things are not always what they seem to be
It depends on how we look to see

Thank you so much. I loved writing this one. I was told if poetry was a baseball game this would be a home run. I hope so. I love writing and hope if it inspires one person my time has been well spent.

Thank you oneagleswings. Haven't heard from you in a while. Glad you are back and I am glad to be back writing again. Hope my poems are an inspiration to all who read them. God love you and so I do as well.
