| The Way, The Truth, and The Life
I drank up sin
Like a bottle of wine
Soaked myself in pleasures
Of the body and the mind
I gave myself over
To the darkness of life
Knowing it was wrong
Pretending it was right
Becoming more weary
With each passing day
Becoming more convinced
There was a better way
I was invited to church
So I went and I listend
About the ways of God
And His promise to Christians
The more that I listened
The more I could feel it
Infiltrating my mind,
My body, my spirit
Later that night
When the quiet came
I sat in the stillness
And whispered His name
"Jesus, please help me,
Forgive me my sins.
Come into my heart,
Let my life begin."
A great cleansing spirit
Entered my being
And in the blink of an eye
My life now had meaning
I turned my back to the darkness
And my face to the light
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life . |
