Abortion On Trial Empty
PostSubject: Abortion On Trial   Abortion On Trial EmptyMon Aug 29, 2011 12:17 am

The Winds Of Change
Chapter 1

This week I was at my favorite dinner across the street from my work place. I ordered my usual, a plain bagel with cream cheese, when I began to read about the Pennsylvania battle over whether John Stachokus could legally override his ex-girlfriend Tanya Meyers’ decision to have an abortion that has launched thousands of overheated conversations, the most striking element of which is: People, even sensitive, feminist, pro-choice people, empathies with the father. Perhaps they don’t empathies with this father specifically—John Stachokus is allegedly a pretty controlling, and maybe even abusive, man. But this case reminds us of the truth at the heart of reproductive rights law in this country: Women have all the power, and men have none at all. That makes most fair-minded people very uneasy, but there’s not much we can do about it.
On the other hand, I am the Prosecuting Attorney for Clark County and I may be able to help weaken Ms. Meyers’ case through precedent. I thought about it all day at work. I have been working special victims and these are the most despicable of crimes that one man could commit towards his brothers and sisters. The one crime however that has always stuck in my mind is the one that I could do nothing about. For abortion is legal, but just because something is legal dose not mean it is righteous. Still, I have never lost a case and I love to pick a fight, but when I had to sit back and watch my sister willfully take the life of her unborn child and do nothing because it was not against the law, I started to take my anger out on people in the courtroom. My boss tells me, “the next case that you take on is your choice; consider it a reward for your perfect prosecution record.” So after a day of convicting 10 child molesters and 3 rapists I wanted a challenge.
Then it hit me, why not charge my sister with the murder of my unborn niece. The idea of charging my sister with premeditated Murder in the first degree may seem harsh but think about it, all of the necessary elements are there. The woman would have to drive or find her way to the abortion clinic, all of the time thinking about her decision to sign the order of intent to Assassinate her unborn child. So the defense can’t claim that the woman killed her child in a range of insanity. The woman can’t claim that she was not there or had never been there, do to her having to sign in at the front desk, not once but three times. Also she has to fill out all kinds of paper work for insurance purposes. This along with the fact that she has to pay to have the child killed, shows conspiracy to commit murder. So if I can get my boss to go along with this, I can prove at lease one count of murder in the first and two counts of conspiracy to commit, for remember that the doctor would also have to be charged with the crime, as well as any one who can be linked to the crime. Keeping in mind that there is no statutes of limitations on murder in a America, the restitution income for the countless numbers of women who have committed this crime to cover up other sins, may pay off the national deficit. Ironically enough, Margaret Sanger who founded Planned Parenthood believed that “the only reasons abortions arise are from a perverted sex relationship under the stress of economic necessity, and their greatest frequency is among married women.” However, my sister was shaking up with a 12 year old boy at the time she had to find a way to cover up her sin so she would not go to jail herself. So motive would not be difficult to establish.
I made an appointment to see my Maxwell Jackson, my superior, to talk to him about my plans to really tick some people off. “Hello, Mr. Antolic. Go right in. Mr. Jackson is expecting you.” Ginger, Max’s old battle ax of a receptionist said as she smacked he gum. “Thank you Ginger.” I said to her as I walked through the door.
“Sit down Tony and tell me what is on your mind.” Mr. Jackson said as he filled his office with cigar smoke and the smell of old brandy. “Well for one thing this is a public building and smoking is illegal with in the confines of it’s walls.” I reminded my boss. “I know you are right but sometimes I just … Let’s just say I should quit and leave it at that.” The burly old redneck put the cigar out in what was left of his brandy and starred out the window. “But you did not come up here to scold me about my vices. What is on your mind, Tony?” I began to think that maybe the whole idea of going after Abortion is not such a good idea, But then I saw a plaque sitting on Mr. Jackson’s desk that read “John 3:16.” Than I said to myself good he is a Christian, I may have a chance.
“Well spit it out. I don’t have all day.” Said the crotchety old redneck. “OK, but first can you tell me what John 3:16 means?” The old man’s face softened as he said, “my boy, that is the most important Bible verse you will ever hear. It says God so love the world that he gave us his only begotten son…” I felt better and it seemed that God was leading the way. So I told Mr. Jackson about my idea to make an example out of my own sister by charging her with the murder of her unborn child. My boss wanted to know what I hoped to gain from doing this, So I told him that “our laws are set by precedent and laws are overturned by precedent as well.” “You think that you can repeal the Abortion laws by proving Murder? Boy your nuts and this is political suicide, but so help me I think you should do it.”
After talking to my boss, he felt that this would be political suicide for both himself and me, but he gave me the go ahead. So I served a subpoena for the transcripts of my sister’s custody battle for her son, and used the in formation to acquire the records regarding her abortion. At which point I interviewed each name on the records and a few people to be used as expert witnesses. Now it was time to file with the courts.
Finally the day came for my opening argument and I have never been more nervous. But after fighting back the butterflies I said: Laddies and gentlemen of the Jury, in 1973 only 9 year after the Equal Rights Amendments was passed into law, the Supreme Court ruled favorably to infanticide or more popularly called abortion. This landmark case would become a downward spiral of American morality. The unfortunate truth is the Interpretations of our law is always subject to outside cultural and political influences. Such was the case with the decision behind Roe Verses Wade. Therefore, no matter what oath may have been taken, human nature still may pressure the individual to brake his or her oath to up hold the Constitution.
'As I spoke, I was reminded of the Jury selection of this case. I t was if God was guiding our hand. For we have 6 African Americans, a Roman Catholic, 2 mothers, and only God knows about the rest. All the while I continued on with my monologue.'
You see the Federal Supreme Court‘s involvement in the landmark case known as Roe verses Wade, is in fact in valuation of the First Amendment’s separation of Church and State, do to the extreme religious implications of the case. Meaning that any decision made based on such an unconstitutional ruling is invalid.
Furthermore, the Interpretation of what defines a person is truly what the abortion debate is really about. If you think about it, the Pro-choice or Life debate has become more about what is covient for the “Independent Women,” who is trapped in WELFARE system. People seem to think that it is alright for the woman to say that she has a right to do what she will with their own body. But even our Founding Fathers admitted that, “that all men are created equal, that We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are LIFE, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness ” (The Declaration of Independence). In case you missed it, even Tomas Jefferson believed that the protection of all life is important enough to be cited in the second paragraph of the declaration of war that won our independence from England. Yet, even our pets have more rights in this country than our own unborn children.
The only true way to look at this issue, is to examine how you can own anything that you did not create. Cardinal Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger, now known as Pope Benedict, once told the press, “You came here to hear what the church has to say on the abortion issue, I well tell there is no issue, for the woman’s body is not her own, it is on loan to her by God.” Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, I submit to you that you are going to be hearing a lot of talk about Conspiracies and morality as this case unfolds and you should, for not only is the defendant on trail for murder but also conspiracy to commit murder.
One irony that emerges when studding the pro-choices movement is that the people who believe in the woman’s right to choose use the same irrational arguments to justify the termination of life as the Slave Traders did against the African American’s, as Andrew Jackson did against the Native American’s, as well as Hitler against the Jews. In fact according to Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planed Parenthood, "The most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its infant members is to render a termination of life" (Women and the New Race).
Now make note fore you will be hearing the phrase “termination of life” many times in this trial. For at no point has the pro-choice movement denied that abortion kills a human being. But shockingly, as according to Margaret Sanger, they don’t. In fact, they openly admit it! Yet the justification that the mother and sometimes even the father may use is that, “the thing growing inside me is not alive (or are not yet human).” Sorry Laddies and I use that term loosely, science has never agreed with you or the Supreme Court. Yet the founder of Planned Parenthood did say: “We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population," she said in her book Woman's Body, Woman's Rights and went on to say, "if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members, our plan would fail." As you can see a conspiracy to commit murder is deeply rooted in the Pro-choice movement. But on a more personal note, any one who can kill a child is not yet human: so does that make them fair game? {I saw that I was make enemies fast in the Jury box. But some time you must crack an egg or two if you are going to make an omelet.}
You see both scientist and philosopher a like, agree on the basic defining properties of life. Does the entity have the potential for growth? Does the entity consume nutrition to sustain its self? Because even the hoist (mother) must admit that the unborn American is growing and consuming food from with in her body, the Supreme Court should have said, “the termination of said life is murder.” But there is a difference between Constitutional and Political Law and we will make that distinction clear during this trial. Although the life inside the mother at this point is nothing more than a parasite, not even the fools on the Supreme Court can oppose that even a tape worm has life and this tapeworm has the potential of becoming human, unlike a lot of Democrats. Sorry Juror Number 2, I see you are waring an Obama T-shirt.
So why would the Supreme Court rule otherwise? Could it be once again to pacify some of the loudest special interest groups in America? That is one more strike against Democracy. {The courtroom filled with laughter, but I was not joking.}
But over the course of this trial, I will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the accused Tamarran Antolic-Bender, had meticulously planed and even conspired with her Husband and their Physician to assassinate her unborn child. {I place a 3 inch thick binder on the evidence table.} This binder has all of the documentation from the Abortion Clinic that Miss. Bender filled out. I will be referring to this binder as Prosecution Exhibit “A1.”
{This was the first time I have seen my sister in years, was in this courtroom today and for the good of mankind she will become an example.} As is tradition in American courts the prosecution had the option of the first wittiness, so I called Ardith Antolic to the stand. “Miss Antolic, how old was your daughter when she stopped sleeping in your bed.” Immediately the defense objected to the the question as a posturing quester to make his client think he is doing his job. “Your honor I will prove relevance, he has not even let me get my first question out.” The judge instructed my mother to answer the question and she admitted that my sister was sleeping in her bed until the age of 22. “Thank you for answering. Now don't you think that 22 years of age is a bit old for a child to be sleeping with her mother?”
My mother looked up at the judge as if to ask him to let her avoid the question. The Judge told her, “you will answer the question.” “Fine, she needed me. My daughter has been sick all of her life.” I knew at this point I could establish my mother character for the court. “Really, just like you only use that wheelchair to try and get sympathy when you need it!” As soon as I said that the defense objected saying, “Miss. Antolic is not on trial here, Council is badgering his own wittiness!” Mr. Darwin yelled out from his seat.
“Your honor if I may, My investigator took these pictures of Miss. Antolic this morning walking down the street pushing her own wheelchair.” I handed the pictures to the Judge and asked my mother, “Why would you be pushing your own wheelchair, unless you don't need it?” Then I told the Defense, “Your wittiness. But I reserve the right to recall.” Now that my mother's credibility was impeached, I could focus on the case.
I looked over and saw the defense whispering to my sister, “don’t worry he’s got nothing.” Than he got up to cross examine my mother. ‘Oh, this should be good!’ I thought myself. My mother looked rather pathetic in the wheel chair that she only uses when she wants sympathy and the Jury was starting to buy into her act. As the defense asked her, “Miss. Antolic why was your daughter sleeping in your bed until the age of 22?” My mother turned on the water works and the Jury played right into her hands, but it was not Ardith J. Antolic who was on trial here, it was her daughter. So I knew that I had to regroup as soon as my mother told the Jury that Tammy had been sick all of her life and she felt safer sleeping in her mother’s bed.
“So, Miss Antolic, would you say that your daughters health was not good enough to carry a child to term?” And that was the turning point. “Objection, the wittiness is not a doctor and is in no way qualified to make such a statement in this court!” The Judge sustained my objection and it was my turn to cross.
“Miss Antolic, will you read what Margaret Sanger, said about sterilization & racial purification:
Sanger believed that, for the purpose of racial "purification," couples should be rewarded who chose sterilization. Birth Control in America. According to Sanger we need more children from the fit, less from the unfit -- that is the chief aim of birth control.
“Miss Antolic, do you know who the Fit and Unfit are in Margaret Sanger's statement?” My mother took a gulp and said to the Jury that was made up of over 50% African Americans, “Black and Handicapped, are unfit and Hitler's idea of Perfection is was she calls Fit.”
“So what you are telling me is that under Margaret Sanger's definition, Miss Bender would not be fit to live. Is that what you are telling me?” The Judge had to call the Jury to order. “Withdraw the question. I call Doctor Darrel Parsons to the stand.” After the tall well built man in his 40's took the stand I asked him, “Doctor Parsons, can you please tell the court how you met the accused?” Doctor Parsons, was a clean cut middle aged man, who seemed to have the women it the courtroom drooling. “Tamarran came to me with a high risk pregnancy, do to her diabetes.” My sister began to get nervous as she realized what I was doing. Yet, there should have been no problem, seems how the Supreme Court has already ruled the this form of murder is legal. That is unless she felt there could be a chance that the Jury would find her guilty.
I continued on with my line of questioning by asking the Doctor, “Would you say given that Tamarran has since carried a child to term and that child is in fact going to be turning 8 years old this year: could she have safely carried her first child to term as well?” I pulled a document out of the binder already introduced int evidence and handed the birth certificate to Juror Number 6. Doctor Parsons agreed that it was highly likely that Tamarran could have had her first child as well. “So you see, ladies and gentlemen of the Jury, Tamarran’s health can not be used as a defense, in this Murder trial. However the Deference would have you believe that it is a key factor. I am now making a plea on behalf of all the unborn Americans, for you to look passed the politics and do what you know is right. Your wittiness.”
“Thank you Mr. Prosecutor.” Mr. Darwin of the Defense walked up to the wittiness stand and preceded to ask Doctor Parsons his questions. I thought it odd that I never noticed the man walked with a cane, but I may be able to use the cane to me advantage later. “Doctor, can you tell me what a parasite is?” The Doctor was taken back by Mr. Darwin’s question, but he did answer saying, “A parasite lives in a close relationship with another organism, its host, and causes it harm: the parasite is dependent on its host for its life functions until both the host and parasite will die or the parasite can find another host.”
“Thank you Doctor, so if the mother would not able to sustain both her life and the life of the fetus, both will die? Is this what you are telling me? Furthermore, do to the fact that Miss. Bender has lived on government assistance all of her life, she in fact is nothing more than a parasite herself and would not be able to responsibly take care of that child. Is this not correct?” “Objection! This is nothing more than conjecture, besides, as I have already stated, Miss, Bender is raising a child.” The judge agreed with the last part of my objection but instructed the Doctor to answer the first part of the question. Doctor Parsons just shook his head for being forced to say, “yes, Miss. Bender would die along with the child,” realizing what the Defense was trying to do, he wished that he did not had to be in the courtroom.
I knew that I now had to reaffirm that there was in fact no danger to the mother by carrying her child to term. “Thank you Doctor, I have no further questions.” The Judge then looked at me and said, “Mr. Antolic, do you wish to reexamine this wittiness?” “No, your honor but I do wish to reserve the right to recall this wittiness at a latter date.” The court adjourned until tomorrow and I did not feel like we did vary well.
As I walked out of the Courthouse, my wife caught up with me and we went to the dinner across the street. “Hun Hun, I know you like the Jerusalem, but you think we can go some where else to eat?” I gave my wife a quick hug and kiss, then I said to her, “any other day I would say yes, but Mr. Jackson is meeting us at the Cafe with Mr. Charles Darwin.” So Kansa looked up at me with her big adorable hazel eyes and told me, “OK, maybe next time.” and she gave me another kiss before we crossed the street. As we arrived at the Cafe, Kansa and I were met by the tall older white man who was wearing a tacky plaid flannel shirt and bolo tie. “You did alright boy! You will get them in the cross tomorrow.” Mr. Maxwell Jackson has never admitted defeat even when there is no way to win. But that is what I like about him. “Mr. Darwin is already sitting down, so let's go meet him.”
As we weighted on our meals, the four of us talked about how moral bankruptcy of this case. Mr. Jackson told me, “I think you should go off of Mr. Darwin’s defense. Mr. Darwin did not have much of a defense in the first place.” “Thanks! How would you defend a crime that is legal in America?” Mr. Darwin laughed at his position.
“Tony, you are a sharp attorney but sometimes you just don’t see the gifts that God has given you. Remember what the Doctor said about what a parasite is. You roped me into this case, and I might forgive you for it. But It seems the people who want their right to choose protected are the same people who want to cover up their indiscretions. You see during the time of Roe Verses Wade, Hollywood was also producing movies that seemed to draw a line directly to Satan. This was the time that the entertainment industry calls, "The Golden Age Of Porn." Not only was the Supreme Court charged with the task of Roe Verses Wade from 1972-73, but they also would be asked to make a ruling in the same session, saying pornography is protected by the First Amendment. You see like it or not the Sexual Revolution, was and is big business in America. I mean think about it. Sexually transmitted daisies, cosmetic surgery, drug addictions, and alcoholism, all keep the hospitals in business. Then you have the residual crimes that stem from the latter. They help keep the Department of Corrections in business. As long as there is money in SEX, the politicians will push anything to keep it going. That includes helping people clean up the mess that their sin had left behind. If that means killing a child, what do they care, he or she doesn't pay taxes. I will see you in court in the morning. It was nice to see you again, Kansa.”
Kansa laughed and remarked at Mr. Darwin's comment saying, “does any one else get the impression that Chuck doesn't want to be on this case.” Mr. Jackson then explained to my wife that In 1970, attorneys Linda Coffee and Sarah Weddington filed suit in a U.S. District Court in Texas on behalf of Norma L. McCorvey (under the alias Jane Roe). The defendant in the case was Dallas County District Attorney Henry Wade, representing the State of Texas. At the time, McCorvey was no longer claiming her pregnancy was the result of rape, and she later acknowledged she had lied earlier about having been raped. However, the man being accused of the rape had hired our own Charles L. Darwin to defend him. “You see, Kansa, the man who had just left us has been on the front lines of this religious conflict from day one, he has a right to be burned out.”
“What do you mean, 'this religious conflict?'” Kansa asked Maxwell as she put down her coffee. “Well my dear, the landmark controversial decision by the United States Supreme Court on the issue of abortion. The Court decided that a right to privacy under the due process clause in the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution extends to a woman's decision to have an abortion.” My boss explained to my wife.
“So Tony, if Abortion is legal in America why would you have grounds for murder?” My wife ask the very question that I must prove in court tomorrow. “Beautiful, that is the question I must answer in the morning, and I don't know how I am going to do it.” It was then that Mr. Darwin came back to the table, “sorry, I forgot my hat.” Mr. Darwin picked up his Feodora, off of his bench and stopped for a second.
“You know I was thinking. Roe v. Wade was the Supreme Court case that resulted in a landmark judicial opinion concerning privacy and abortion in the United States. According to the decision, most laws against abortion violated a constitutional right to privacy under the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. This states that the government must normally respect all of a person's legal right.”
“Yes, Darwin we know that.” I teased. Well in 2007 the Supreme Fools of our highest court ruled against late-term abortions. However the ban will still have to abide for the "health exception" for women who could suffer serious medical complications. That was the first time the Supreme Court has heard a major abortion case in six years. The ban specifically encompasses what doctors' call " intact dilatation and evacuation (IDE)" which congress in its legislation termed as inhumane.”
I smiled and shook my head. But Kansa was not sure what had just happened and neither was I. “What did I miss?” Kansa said as Mr. Darwin got up from our booth to pay his tab. “Your husband is about to tick off a lot of people and Mr. Darwin gave him all of the tools he needs to slam dunk this case.” But Mr. Jackson was not completely truthful, with my wife that day. The two of us had an ace up the sleeve, but would it work. We know that we had to take the politics out of the courtroom if we were going to have any success at all.
Once Kansa and I went home, I had my work to do. Mr. Darwin was trying to defend my sister by saying the parasite in her body was killing her. In other words Tammy had to defend herself from the innocent child in her whom. So now I have to show that the parasite would have become a symbiont, which takes part in a mutually beneficial relationship. But how do I do that? And In response to the Supreme Court's ban on Late Term Abortions, I must ask at what point do humans become valued members of society? I myself put no value on the life of a politician, yet if I decided to terminate a politician's life I would go to jail. Although I still place no value on the roll of a politician in modern society, much less the life of any person that would choose that roll. Therefore, I must now ask you if a politician's worthless life is protected by law, why isn't the life of the unborn child, who has never had a chance to prove it's worthlessness? I would than spend the rest of the night praying for answers. Once I finally got to sleep I had a dream that told me that I needed to put my sister on the stand. But not before I made some phone calls.
My plan was to put one of the most well known American Heroes of our generation on the stand. I met General Colen Powell in Desert Storm, but it was only once. My case doesn't henge on his showing up tomorrow but it would not hurt. I put in an e-mail to his publicist and was praying for a phone call. I was about to go to bed when the phone rang. “Hello?” I said hopping that I knew who it was.
“May I speak to Anthony Antolic?”
“Speaking, and this is?”
“I am former Secretary Of State Colen Powell.”
At first I wanted to say, “yeah right, who put you up to this.” But I kept my cool and thanked him for returning my call. “How can I help you, Anthony?”
“Can you make an appearance tomorrow at the Courthouse around 010:00? I need an expert wittiness.” He was hesitant at first but after I told him what it was about, the General was happy to help. He was in town already for a business seminar, so it was not out of his way.
The next morning I recalled Doctor Parsons, to the stand. “Doctor, the defense would try to make the Jury believe that Miss. Bender had no choice than to terminate her first pregnancy to preserve her own life. Yet,…” The court room door opened and an 8 year old boy was escorted in by a Police Officer. “this boy was successfully brought into this world by the same woman who did not have a second thought about killing her first born. Furthermore, Miss. Bender’s medical records indicate that after her second pregnancy she is in better health than she had been for her whole life. Can you explain how this is possible?”
The Doctor was all too happy to explain for he to had lost family do to the sin of man as well. “After the child is carried to term the mother’s immune system is stepped up so she can safely give milk to her young. Many times this helps heal the mother naturally of other problems.” I looked over at the Jury and said, “So in truth, the unborn fetus in much more than a parasite, it keeps a symbiotic relationship with the host mother. Is this not correct.” The Doctor agreed and I released him from the stand.
At this point I needed to recap for the benefit of the Jury before I called my next wittiness. “Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, what we have just established here is the fact that contrary to the finite minds of the Federal Supreme Court, not only is the fetus of the unborn child alive it has been given rights by the same Creator that is currently punishing America through natural disasters, for our rejection of his law in favor of popular law. Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, This case is about much more than whether or not Miss. Bender knowingly killed her child, in fact she openly admits that she did. I don’t ever have to prove that, she did so for me by signing over 50 separate documents to the fact. Furthermore, and I am sorry Mr. Darwin but he is being paid to defend a lost cause, for his whole defense was based on the idea of survival of the fittest. Therefore, Darwin’s argument that only the Fit should survive and the weak should parish says that Miss. Bender should have been the one to die, for the unborn child had a better chance of living than she did, thanks to modern technology. Therefore, this case has become about politics and I must pose the question to you Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, since when has murder ever been about politics? Furthermore, if the Defense wants to play the extermination of a parasite card, using the definition that Doctor Parsons gave us. Because law is based on president, a verdict in favor of the Defendant would lousily give me permission to take an AK-47 down the street and shoot every recipient of Welfare, because they are bleeding out nation dry. Just something to think about. I call General Colen Powell, to the stand.”
“Objection, relevance?” Mr. Darwin squawked.
“Your Honor, I can show relevance. It will just take a moment.” As always I was instructed to make it quick.
General Powell entered the room with a Courtroom filled with clapping. It took a while for the Courtroom to come to order. But once he took the stand, all was quiet. “Well you need not to introduce yourself. That much is clear. General, can you tell me what this document is?”
“That is an Order to Terminate of Life. Where did you get that?” The General seemed concerned. as was my intent.
“Where I got it is not relevant at this point. But with out spilling our nations secrets, can you tell the Court what an Order to Terminate of Life is?” I asked General Powell, as I noticed the Jury was on the edge of their seats and so was the Judge.
“With out compromising our National security, an Order to Terminate of Life is the document that is issued to a Black Operations Team that out lines the intent to Assassinate a living threat to the American people both foreign and domestic.”
“Thank you General. Now do you want to know were I got this document?” Both the Judge and the General said yes. “I walked into a Planed Parenthood clinic.” I then handed the Judge and the General a copy that was not blacked out. “This document was already entered in to evidence as Prosecution Exhibit A-1. As you can see the clinic makes no attempt to hide the fact that the mother would be signing an order of intent to Terminate of Life. Therefore, now that the intent to commit Murder in the First Degree has been established. All that there is left is to verify that signature at the bottom of this document is in fact Miss. Bender's.” I said to the Jury as I pointed out the signature.
At witch point General Powell spoke up and asked me, “how would you have ever known what the order looks like?” I smiled and said, “My serial number is 586942322, look it up.” “Than thank you for serving. Nice bluff!”
When the Defense had his turn to cross examine the General, he told the Judge that he had “no questions for this wittiness.” So the Judge called a recess until the next morning. When the Jury would be given their instructions. All of the evidence has been presented, now it is up to the Jury to decide.
The Deliberation Room
Chapter 2
The next day the Jury went unchallenged by the press strait into the deliberation room to discuss further about the case. However, no one else was as lucky. Just as my wife and I got out of our car, we had been accosted by never ending questions from Press. “Mr. Antolic, what possessed you to peruse a murder charge against some one who has committed no crime according to the Supreme Court?” An attractive woman with straight blond hair said, as she pushed a tape-recorder in my face. I then looked across the parking garage and saw Mr. Darwin of the defense smiling. The press was not to have been notified until the Jury rendered their verdict. Now the trial is going to become one of popular opinion just as Roe Verses Wade did in 1972. “nicely played Mr. Darwin, I thought to myself. I will be filing contempt charges against you in the interim.” I thought to myself.
I then stopped and said to the reporter, “the only reason the Supreme Court ruled the way they did with Roe Vs. Wade was public opinion, however, I am sure that any Jury would have to find the mother guilty of murder if the Jury was never told that this was an abortion case. Therefore, the Jury has been instructed to only consider the evidence. In short the Supreme Court gave into politics and therefore is in violation of the Constitution. Meaning that any verdict rendered from 1973 on, is void. If you try to come in to my court room before this trial is over I will have you arrested!”
As Kansa and I walked away, the reporter yield out, “you are violating the publics First Amendment right to Freedom of the Press!”
Kansa to a hold of my arm as I turned around and motioned for an officer to detain the reporter, “Let her go, she in only ignorant.” I told my wife that while it may not be her fault that the public schools don't teach any thing, it is her responsibility to not speak in ignorance. “I am only going to talk to her.” I told Kansa after I gave her a kiss.
“I was only standing up for my rights as a reporter.” The young woman in her early 20's said to me. “That may be your interpretation of the Constitution but it is a bad interpretation at best. You said that I was in violation of the public right to know. Well what of the right for the accused to be tried by an impartial Jury. What of the right to a speedy trial? What of the right for the public to be protected from corruption? Do you want this story?” The ambitious young woman's eyes lit up, “yes!” “What is you name?” She handed me her card and said, “Cristy.” “ Well Cristy, if you agree to cooperate and not interfere with this trail, I will give you the only interview.” She agreed and Kansa and I went into the Courthouse.
“Your a good man Charley Brown.” Kansa told me on the way into the Courtroom. “What did I do?” I said not realizing that she was referring too. “You know full well, what you did. You may have made that girl's future.” “Yeah, that's up to her. I have to go to work now.” I gave my wife a hug and proceeded on into the Courtroom.

Good Morning Anthony
I am not going to sit here and pretend to be a master of the literary arts. Quite frankly I am not. I cannot comment on your grammar your punctuation or any of that sort of stuff. What I can do and what I do best is read. Now this is only my perception of your story and as I said it is not an expert opinion. I loved it from the beginning till the end!. It reminded me of a well written detective story. I do have one concern and that would be that you posted this in the Novel section. It seems at this pace you will have a very short Novel.
God Bless
Thank You for the Good Reading

Abortion On Trial Empty
PostSubject: Re: Abortion On Trial   Abortion On Trial EmptyMon Aug 29, 2011 2:39 pm

Nice work with the edits so far. Great job. Here are a few more suggestions.

The first paragraph is so important when writing a story. I thought I would offer the following suggestion for revision. I thought you might keep your work at the court house a secret until the following paragraph to really surprise the reader when he/she gets there.

This week, at my favorite dinner across the street from where
I work, I ordered my usual: a plain bagel with cream cheese. I settled back in
the booth and shook my head as I read about the Pennsylvania battle now before
the courts. It is a case to decide whether John Stachokus could legally
override his ex-girlfriend, Tanya Meyers’, decision to have an abortion. It has launched a thousand overheated
conversations, the most striking element of which is this: People, even
sensitive, feminist, pro-choice people, empathize with the father. Perhaps they don't empathize with this father
specifically—John Stachokus is allegedly a pretty controlling and maybe even an
abusive man. But this case reminds us of the truth at the heart of reproductive
rights law in this country: Women have all the power, and men have none at all.
That makes most fair-minded people very uneasy, but there's not much we can do
about it.

When describing characters in your story, don't use the same description more than once. Pick a different, but similar description for the character. Word repetition sticks out. It should only be used in special cases.

I'll work on it more later. With a little work, this story could come out pretty great. I look forward to it. Good bless.

If you take us into the court room it would turn into the novel I think it could be. You would be able to introduce a lot of drama through dialog. You could research real court cases to see how court proceedings take place to get an idea of how to do it.

Yes, that will do it. Take us in. With a novel length story it is important to give the reader a since of completness in the story.

I would also suggest looking at Wordsmith's new post in "Writing Tips" called "Developing a "Round" Character." It will help you make your characters come to life even more. I can't wait to see what you come up with after you take us to the Jury room!

PostSubject: Re: Abortion On Trial   Abortion On Trial EmptySun Sep 04, 2011 5:34 pm

I came up with a back story for the PA. Tell me what you think.

Preface
“Wake up Gracie, today is your big day.” Her mother pulls off her sheets and continued on to say, “Grace, it is time to get up.”
“Ahh! I am going to be late. Do I really get to meet my Father today?' The 12 year old girl says as she scrambles to get dressed.
“Yes, you are truly going to meet your father today. But you will not remember him as you do now.” Kelli told her daughter in her still soft voice.
“What do you mean?” Grace asked as she stopped in her tracks.
“Well if your keep getting ready, I will tell you again of God's plan.” The young woman finished getting ready while her mother explained, “You father and I had been going driving down the freeway...”
“Was I there too? Kelli smile and they both chuckled as the mischievous blond looked at her mother and smiled kissing her mother on the cheek.
“Yes Gracie, you were their too. Now let me tell the story. Your dad and I were fighting and many people had been drinking that night, ...”
“But not you or Daddy.”
“No Grace, not Me or your Dad were drinking that night or any other night. Now can I finish?”
“Sorry.” Kelli rubs and kisses her forehead. “What were you fighting about?”
“What? Oh, We were fighting about his Job. You see your father hated the politics that he had to deal with every day, but the money was good and I did not want him to leave the job. Anyway, with out warning a drunk driver headed right in to us. He undid his seatbelt and told me to do the same but I didn't understand. At impact the car flipped but your father timed it so as the door was straight up he was jumping out. Gracie, the seatbelt took your life at impact and I was trapped in the car watching my own blood gushing.”
“Where was Dad?” Grace asked as her eyes filled with tears.
“He tried to get me out of the car but two Firemen pulled him away. I could hear him screaming, 'I am a combat medic, let me help her.' But they felt that he needed medical assistance too. I yield for him but they never let him come to me. I could hear him calling for me and then I heard fighting. Your father loves to fight. But I don't remember anything more than that.” Grace gave her mom a hug and told her, “you will see him again and we will be sealed together for ever.”
“I know but your Dad has a new wife now, one whom we chose for him and now you are going to be their baby. You will not remember me once you are on the other side of the Vail, but you will be surrounded by friends and family who will protect you. You Dad does not know that Kansa is pregnant, but he will see much of me in you. It is time for you to go.”

Abortion On Trial Empty
PostSubject: Re: Abortion On Trial   Abortion On Trial EmptyThu Sep 08, 2011 10:44 pm

I am taking my reader in to the Jury room. Here is what I have so fare.

The next day the Jury went unchallenged by the press strait into the deliberation room to discuss further about the case. However, no one else was as lucky. Just as my wife and I got out of our car, we had been accosted by never ending questions from Press. “Mr. Antolic, what possessed you to peruse a murder charge against some one who has committed no crime according to the Supreme Court?” An attractive woman says as she pushed a tape-recorder in my face. I will be filing contempt charges against you in the interim.”
Meaning that any verdict rendered from 1973 on is void. If you try to come in to my court room before this trial is over I will have you arrested.”

Hey out there, I was wondering what people think about a conspiracy in the Supreme court to curb a growing population of welfare recipients. I have been reading threw the Roe v Wade transcripts and I may even be able to prove this.

PostSubject: Re: Abortion On Trial   Abortion On Trial EmptyFri Sep 09, 2011 11:24 am

The following are all just suggestions. You are free to take them or leave them. To start with the prologue, I thought it was pretty cute and heart warming, but it smacks a little of sci-fi. As cute as it is, It doesn't stay in the same genre as the original story. As far as the court scene. It's definitely different. I think those are the words I'm looking for. The story has moved into conspiracy theory, therefore, you might find that not all readers will take it seriously. If you stick to the original premise, that this was premeditated murder court case, it will hold water a little better. Finally, your last idea is interesting, however, again, it is off topic from the original story. If you want to put all of your ideas together in one book, you might think of maybe writing about the conspiracy theory behind abortion in the United States, or something like that. It's tough writing a novel, I know, and coming up with new material on just one line of thinking can be a challenge. The key to that is stepping the reader through the story by developing dialog, physical and emotional reactions, what the surroundings looked like, building up the main characters of your story, etc. These are all just suggestions. I hope they helped. God Bless

Abortion On Trial Empty
PostSubject: Re: Abortion On Trial   Abortion On Trial EmptyMon Sep 12, 2011 9:42 am

I know you say stay away from conspiracy but fact is not conspiracy. These are some notes that I came up with in my research. I think people should by aware of.

Notes On The Human Condition:

I posed the question, "what is your stand on the Abortion issue," on the social website known as "Empire Avenue."

It came as no surprise that the only response came from someone who calls himself pro-choice, saying, "What do your views on abortion have to do with your participation in Empire Avenue?" Needless to say the reason I posed the question on the website that I did had everything to do with the fact that the people who play the game are willing to put a price on a human life. But the response didn't end there, he goes on to tell me, "I am a Pro-Choice person by nature and believe that extremists in any area generally exclude the positions of others. What is your agenda?"
My Response

"Yes, and thank you for proving your own point. I asked people for their opinion and you used the chance to force your agenda. The question was, 'What is your stand on the Abortion issue?' your assumption that I even had taken a side (position) proves your point about extremists. For I asked a normal question. For this website seems to take no issue about putting a price on human life. Furthermore, because Margaret Sanger, the found of Planed Parenthood said, "The most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it," the Pro-choice movement has always admitted that Abortion is taking a life. Therefore, the extremist group in question, is YOU!, For the rights being over looked are the rights of the unborn child.

The Man On The Street

I asked the same question to a man, who was walking passed my on the side-walk. He said, "I am pro-choice for I don't feel it is right to bring a child into this world if the mother can't even take care of herself." Isn't that why people get married in the first place; so the woman doesn't have to raise the child alone? But Margaret Sanger, also spoke out against marriage by saying; "the marriage bed is the most degenerating influence in the social order" (Sanger). Is it any wonder that families have been destroyed by the Pro-choice movement?

All I can say is, "this is going to be a fun book to right." It seems the people who want their right to choose protected are the same people who want to cover up their indiscretions. You see during the time of Roe Verses Wade, Hollywood was also producing movie that seemed to draw away a live directly to Satan. This was the time that the entertainment industry calls, "The Golden Age Of Porn." Not only was the Supreme Court charged with the task of Roe Verses Wade in 1972-73, but they also would make a ruling in the same session, saying pornography is protected by the First Amendment.

Abortion On Trial Empty
PostSubject: Re: Abortion On Trial   Abortion On Trial EmptyMon Sep 12, 2011 10:11 am

I think you misunderstood my meaning. I apologize for not being clear. The main point to what I was saying was, the story wasn't staying on topic. I do see what you're aiming for (and, by the way, I believe there is and always has been a direct attack on our unborn). When I read the first draft of the story, I assumed it was going to be about a district attorney charging his sister with premeditated murder, and then it seemed to go into several very different directions. I think the average Joe would assume that when they started to read it too, and then when it goes into the other topics on abortion, they would think of it as conspiracy theory. Not that it is. I think if you're objective is to get people to understand what is really going on with abortion, you could write a non-fiction book of facts on abortion. When you write a fictional book, that's how people take it, as fiction.

Abortion On Trial Empty
PostSubject: Re: Abortion On Trial   Abortion On Trial EmptyTue Sep 13, 2011 12:20 am

Thank you. And I know I need to stay on topic. I intend to keep the main story as the trial, but also develop a sub plot in the background that reveals a much bigger issue. One of the problems that I have run into is defending the sister. For one thing Abortion is a political agenda, nobody argues that it is termination of life, In fact the Pro-choice movement admits it freely. So the issue becomes one of philosophy rather than right on wrong. When the sister terminated the child, she did so, to cover up the statutory rape of her 12 year boy friend. Much is the same across the board, the highest stats of Abortion in America belong to married women who have cheated on their husbands. Things like thins will be revealed as they sit down to a meal and discuss the case out side of the courtroom. The reader must be pulled into the story one layer at a time otherwise, as with you who only saw a courtroom drama, I would only be preaching to the quire.

The Pro-choice movement is about covering up sin with a greater sin. Our government sees this as an opportunity to push a much more sinister agenda. But like you said, "if people read it as fiction, that is who they well take it." Than so be it. I wrote another book call Trapped in Salem. No one would touch the first version because it was presented with a 20 bibliography and was in fact my Masters thesis. The premise was that the Salem Witch Trials, happened because six young women got tiered of being molested by the town hierarchy. The theory was not taken well at all, but when I rewrote it as a fictional story, people would take the time to read it. Sometimes hardened hearts must be shattered before they can heal. By the way there is a reason the sister's maiden name is Antolic. I might change it when or if the story goes to publish, but there is a lot more truth to the fiction then you may want to see.

It sounds very intriguing. I think the idea of adding on layers will work. I'd like to get to know these characters so I can connect to them better. Also, if I'm understanding right, there was/is someone in your family that had an abortion that was very hurtful to you. So, I'm sorry for your grief. May the Lord heal your broken heart. God Bless
