As you grow older together
The romance is not all gone
For living daily together

Daily tasks you once took for granted

I'd like to hear some love songs
Written by older folks who know
That when you're young and in love
Puppy love may come and go.
No need to write harsh things
Of those you loved and lost
You have time to find true love
And a few tears might be the cost.
Perhaps you might have made it
With your choice at 18 or 15
Or you might still be wed
To the one that was in between.
But growing up a little bit
Can benefit you in the end
Giving you a life long spouse
As well as a life long friend.
Those things you do as young folks
Will be treasured memories
As you mature and age together
Sharing years of sweet history.
From dancing and singing and jitterbuggin'
To sitting in your comfy chairs
Eating popcorn and sweetly huggin'
From finding each other's spectacles
And when facing aging's ills
It sometimes means helping to keep tab
Of each other's regime of pills!

I'd like to hear a love song
Written by folks of 60 or 70 too
But since I don't know of any
Perhaps this little verse will do.

From all of life's trials and stresses
God will not spare us
But when we need and call on Him
He will indeed repair us.
