Election Wish

Wish that election meant perfection
Instead of dejection and rejection.
Wish it meant that only good things were in sight
Whether from the left or from the right
And that supporters never wanted to fight
With others who once brought delight
And that power always brought good will
and without mention
Only inspired the best of intentions.
But alas and alack it never seems to be that way
And for a smooth and uneventful election
We who await the results must pray...

I'm casting my vote for you!!

The globe is moving so fast
My mind is all in a whirl
There are so many problems
And so many heartaches
Going on in our world!
Elections to consider-
How does one vote
In something so important to all?
What if we don't know all the facts
And erring, we make the wrong call?
So many storms on so many shores
So much heartache and grief
Waiting, wishing and praying
For comfort and sweet relief.
I'm only one person with only two hands
And one vote to cast in my turn
What can I do to make things better
I'm so helpless and feel so alone.
But I know the Maker of Heaven and earth
And in prayer I can go to His Throne.
I can ask Him to guide me
And direct my path in all I do
To guide my hands in His work
And let His love shine through.
I will trust Him to guide me as I vote
And choose someone who will share
My love of God and country
And who will handle it with prayer.

Amen! Only the Lord can bring real healing. Our prayers are more powerful than our votes.
