HPD officer shoots, kills amputee in wheelchair

One arm, one leg, bound to a wheelchair, mentally ill (bi-polar and schizophrenic) couldn't this have been handled differently? Pepper spray? tazer? A soda maybe and a cigarette?

This type stuff happens in Portland all the time. It's tragic that they can't use lighter force.

i made some friends in assisted living situations, the conditions leave much to be desired. the aides there have no special training or qualifications, almost every resident suffers from mental illness as well as obvious physical impairments to varying degrees. very sad.

Two officers could not resolve this in a better way? Don't know all the circumstances, but I'm sure the results left pain and regret on both sides. God help us all to value human life more.
