Thanksgiving Prayer

God please bless and protect those who are far away
And can't be at home with loved ones
On this Thanksgiving holiday.
For their peace and safety, Lord, we pray.

Bless their families as our military serve
In places near or far
And thank you Father God
For the heroes which they are.

For travel mercies we ask
For those who are on the way
To celebrate with loved ones
This special loving holiday.

Bless those whose uniforms
Keep them on duty or on call
May their incidents be few
And we ask blessings for them all.

Bless all of those whose hospital beds
Are where dinner will be eaten on Thanksgivng Day
Lift them up and brighten their spirits
And take all fear and doubt away.

Bless those who sit beside those beds
Looking for signs of recovery in those they love
We ask that they feel Your arms around them
And blessed comfort from above.

And Father I cannot forget
To thank you for each precious pet
That blesses our lives each day
For all this in Jesus' Name we pray.

There is an empty chair-
The place of a loved one
Treasured and so dear
One who sat there year after year.

Be with those whose loved ones
Won't sit in their places this year
Please comfort them
And wipe away each tear.

We thank you for the memories
We have of those gone on before
Let those memories help us to love our families
And treasure them even more.
