No Problem, No Turkey

Turkey Dinner

No company coming
No need to cook
Ordered our meal
From the Von's gift book.

Looked so delicious
In the photo we saw
And that it would be cooked
Was the only conclusion to draw.

Would pick it up
On Thanksgiving eve
That it would be perfect
We were led to believe.

Alas and alack when we brought it back
It was frozen and hard as could be
And this, my dear friends
Is not how it should be.

Defrost for two or three days it said
But those days we did have have to spare
We might as well have invited the bird as a guest
And placed him in his own chair.

So we have potatoes and cranberry sauce
We have mashed potatoes, gravy and rolls
And the bird sits there (not in a chair)
With the time table under its control!

Jody is making a turkey pot pie polenta based(rachel ray recipe).
It's like a one pan thanksgiving meal all included, smells great!!

I’m having turkey for breakfast
I’m having turkey for lunch
I’m having turkey for dinner
Because we still have a bunch!

I’m having a side of mashed potatoes
With gravy covering the top
I’m pouring gravy over my carrots
And with them I may not stop!

I’m having pumpkin pie on Monday
And perhaps a nice steak.
Because by then I imagine
Of turkey I will have had all I can take!

I gave some turkey to the dogs...and instead of being grateful, they gave me this disappointed look as if to say: "WHAT...NO GRAVY?!"
I think that i may have spoiled them a bit too much...hmmm?

LOL My two are looking pitiful trying to get more...

The pups are having a rerun
Of their dinner from yesterday
A little bit of turkey
Then they will be off to play.

The pups are having a treat
A little bit of gravy too
There wasn't a lot left
But what's a mom to do.

The pups are having a bath
Don't want them to be in disgrace
With bits of turkey in their fur
And gravy on their face!
