One Cookie Left

There was one cookie left...
One little cookie on the plate
All of the others we ate..
Ate them yesterday
And the day before
There had been a dozen
Maybe even more
But not today
There was one little cookie
Sitting there all alone
Who would like a cookie
And would be so bold to take
The one little cookie
Left on the plate...
Hubby took the cookie
And broke it in two
"Here's half for me," said he
"And here's half for you."

Cinderella, After the Ball

After the ball she went home
And called the prince on the telephone
To see if he had found her shoe
Alas, what else could she do?

After the ball her coach was again a pumpkin
And she was once more a country bumpkin
Yes, that night she had fun at the ball
But next day she went with her friends to the mall...

When her prince she finally wed
After all the vows had been said
She uncovered a royal mystery
That his meals had to be gluten free...

He couldn't eat peanuts and couldn't wear wool
Wanted their kids to all be homeschooled
Had a bit of dandruff and an allergy rash
Couldn't eat seafood and hated hash.

After the ball and after the wedding
All the pretense was over and shredded.
They were just two young folks who loved each other
Who wanted to spend their lives together.

After the wedding
And after the ball
They were just people-
As are we all!
