Morrow's Sorrow

I may look like I have it all together but you've got out all wrong
Nothing but failure comes from the works of these palms!
I promise you everything my hands touch breaks!
And nothing but bad comes from all the good choices I make!

I want someone to understand
But they never will
We see each other eye to eye
But youll never see what lies behind mine
You can't be blamed I've got a poet's heart
I've rolled up my sleeves and wear it like a watch
so when you took my hand
And broke my wrist
You gave my soul a cruel kiss
And I can't get it back
What you took!
You read my mind like an open book!
I tried the love thing but It never works out
I said I tried this worlds love and it never works out!
I feel like my watch is out of batteries and I don't know where to get a new one
With every tick it ticks it's ticking closer to being done

So where do I go from here
Where do I lay my burdens
When my passion is always burning!
I can't even sleep
But when I do I pray my soul the Lords to keep because I won't survive in the dreams I have at night
And I know this battle isn't even mine to fight
but still I take the reigns because it gives me inspiration to write

When people hear the words from my mouth
Our hear the lines from every poem I shout
They think my mind works like a symphony
But they can't even hear the broken record that lives inside of me!
I try to organize and lay out my thoughts
But each and every one Is a different battle I've fought
And each one left a cut
Every time I rip off a scab I cry my eyes shut
I do NOT have it all together
My soul was not made to stand this weather
So the question is not whether or not Ill go on
But how much of my masterpiece will be drawn!

I tried transparency in an effort to transplant your heart into me!
But my God, that wasn't enough I needed freakin open heart surgery!
I may look like I have it all together but you've got I all wrong
The only strength I have comes from the grace of HIS palms!
And I'll continue to walk before Him laying down fronds!
But the Martyr of my mind is not one I take while in bondage!
I am free
This is personal choice
It just so happens I'm willing to stand and shout
For those who don't have a voice
I don't have it all together
But God's using me
I give His people my all
Even if they continue abusing me
All I can ask
All that I can say
Is that it would mean the world to me if you thought about my pain while you pray
