Forty seven years we've been wed
And each day a little prayer of thanks I've said
That God sent me such a wonderful man
Who would ask my dad for my hand.
We do not always agree on everything
But nothing could make me give up my ring
That he placed on my finger so long ago
For there's nothing that would take away
The love I feel for him every single day.
