Follow the leaders

Stop and start
for every good report
an undressing via a snappy retort
not driven by hunger
hunting only for sport

Who wants to hear another conversion story
from a sitting duck?
bare any and all vulnerabilities
only to be picked apart!
noisy hens scratching at the earth
for an easy meal embracing diversion
foregoing something real

For every presentation
presented with a bone of contention
devil's advocates
testing spirits'
white silk socks
on black flip-flop sandals

Naught but a sore thumb
grown numb
awakened to impress upon
an ingrown nerve

Not so much as clever
but rather a mis-chosen endeavor
to be a switch and a lever
think themselves blameless executioners
simply obeying orders
servile with a crooked smile
spiritually compromised
beholden to...
gluttons and hoarders

Causing to Stumble

42 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea. 43 If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. [44] [a] 45 And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. [46] 47 And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48 where

50 “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other.”

[b]Salt on salt is simply salt, salt on ice is a catalyst for a change of state.
"Salt on a wound" produces more salt (tears are salty).
