You can't find the hamper
When you have changed your socks
But you remember to bring me flowers
So that doesn't matter a lot.

You flip through the channels
One right after another
But you held me close and wept with me
When I lost my mother.

You like the thermostat too low sometimes
While at other times its too high
But you understand my sentimental nature
And comfort me when I cry.

We might annoy one another
From time to time, I must confess
But nothing important enough
To make me love you any less!

To My Hubby of a Lot of Years

You are my sweetheart, my true love
And you still make my heart pound
If I searched the world over
No one better would I have found!
Through the years we've had our spats
But none that mattered much
Most of them were tossed aside
With one loving gentle touch.
It takes a lot of patience
To keep a marriage strong
And to strengthen love that's true
That's why I am so thankful, my love
That God sent me you!

If you expect marriage to be perfect
Once wedding vows are said
Don’t bother with a ceremony
Read a romance novel instead.

Don’t worry if your prince charming
Has a few rough edges to work out
Give him time to live and grow
That’s what maturity is about.

Look for a spouse who is compassionate
A man dedicated, sincere and kindhearted
And once you’ve found this special man
Pray that you won’t be parted.

Look for a spouse who will love you
For the person you are inside
One who will treasure you forever
Once you become his bride.
