Tears and Hearts

Tears don’t always come immediately
After hurtful or cross words have been spoken
It’s not always immediately obvious
That a tender heart has been broken.

Tears don’t always stream down the face
And big sobbing sounds don’t always play a part
Of the hurt that has been inflicted
And has pierced a loving heart.

Remember when you say unkind things
That like feathers blowing in the wind
Once spoken and sent on their way
They cannot be gathered back again…

Some folks are having a lovely day
Basking under sunny skies
While others are agonizing inwardly
Over someone's betrayal and lies.
Some folks are celebrating today
While others are in despair
But no matter what our situation
Trust that God will meet you there.
He loves us when we are happy
And gives us the gift of joy untold
But He can lift us up from trials
When sadness seems to enfold.
Nothing is beyond His help
His hands can reach us all
It is up to us to put out our hand
And on His Name to call.
