Easpling is a new participant in this forum. She has entered a short story in a contest. That forum does not allow comments by others. But I MUST comment. The story wrapped around a sorry man with a snapshot is masterful. So visual. I am right there in a moment. My heartstrings are pulled BIG TIME. The redeeming quality of this piece is unmistakable, and it starts with child-like honesty and compassion in the little, observant girl.

The Mother catches on. She has a record of some suffering. Therein lies the seed of her compassion. And compassion brings on the power of Christ. I share a link entitled "Compassion".

I have been drinking here from a "pool of light". Truly the purpose of Christian writing. Thank you, Easpling.
