Tides of marches

It's tough to say where we stand
till we are actually standing upon it
and it's even tougher to make a stand
while sitting down

Even a ship without a sail or power
will be moved by the tide
run aground
or dashed upon rocks
without an anchor to hold it firm

In attempting to ascend an icy uphill road
come to standstills'
wheels turning in drive
but vehicle reversing
hope for the best now...
better to have remained still
till the ice was salted and melted
maintain integrity...
within some semblance of control

Trip over our own "good intentions"
or plunge headlong down a hole
a fall is still a fall
afterall...
no matter where the fault lay
it's all after the facts anyway

Where we once stood
where we once fell
where we once drifted
where we once laid
should have nothing to do
with today...

The world offers:
"like new",
second-under-handed-ulterior motived, hardly used,
"in very good condition?"

The Lord offers,
brand new start!
Unconditional Love.

Haven't we all grown so weary of...
Messy antics of dolts
that sound oh so good?
only to find the self-professed prophetic
fallen, broken down
to something...
oh so pathetic?

AMONG THE FLOCK WE STAND
lamb-locked
under The Good Shepherd's loving watchful eye
securely hedged in...
so why can we only sea
all of our 'sures' eroding

Does Jesus always weep
everytime...
He brings one of us
back into life?

These tears...
that still sting our eyes
everytime we meditate
on the cruelties inflicted upon You before You died
are silent testimony
that "salt"
by Grace endures...
in ample supply

JOB 13:15

yet will i trust Him"
