Wisdom is Courting Me

I’ve seen Her from Afar for a Lifetime
Yet, I believed she never noticed me
Somehow I felt I wasn’t good enough for Her
Or maybe, She was too good for me.

At times I flirted with her
Simply out of Curiosity

Funny, She always responded with a Smile
As if to say,
“It’s Okay, I’d Like to get to Know You”

I must’ve been Shy
Or maybe too Proud
To Think someone So Subtly Beautiful
Was Perfect for Me

How Foolish

Now I’m old
I don’t quite look the Same
I still see Her Though
She’s more beautiful than Ever

Her distance appears
Not as Great
She bears that same Welcoming Smile
