Made Worthy

Why do you feel unworthy? Don’t you know who you are?
You are chosen not for your flawlessness but
for those very flaws! Don’t you know God knows it?
That you’ll fall again and again and again?

But He will catch you in His hand. In your weakness,
His strength will cause you to stand.
You stumble over and He knew that before
He called you out; He died for your shortfall.

Jesus chose the haters and moulded them to lovers,
He chose the failures and created in them victors;
He chose the lowliest to make Spirits soar;
He chose you to rule with full knowledge of your flaws.

He chose you. You’re chosen. You’re a Priest of the Highest God
Adopted, a son; with Crown, Robe and Rod;
He called you to sit with Him on His very throne:
To rule in your weakness that His goodness might be shown.

His word declares it, from Creation to Recreation,
An anthem threaded in a scarlet thread.
You were made worthy when God Himself
Traded His crown for your sin on His head.

You see that crown of thorns that pierced His skull,
those thorns so deeply driven in;
those same thorns were set aflame
When God chose Moses to deliver His kin.

Those thorns of redemption; God’s sweet grace,
Are the thorns of sin’s eternal fade,
they purchased our Kingship, Sonship and Friendship,
Unworthiness vanquished; worthiness paid.

Such an uplifting piece! I love this stanza especially, very powerful:
