I Heard You Call My Name, Lord

I heard my name called
As if out loud
Although I knew
It could be no one else
But you.
All others were sound asleep
Breathing gently as they slept
And once I heard You call my name
In my spirit I wept.
I wept for joy that I heard you again
And was not too busy with a worldly thing
That would keep me from hearing You call my name.
This had happened to me before
But I could not imagine that it could be You
And I knew not what to do.
But this morning I awoke
Just as soon as my name You spoke
And said “Here I am, Lord.
What would You have me do?
I want to be what ever You want me to be
And do what You would have me do.
For my life, my being is nothing of my own,
It all belongs to You.”
