A Silly

My honey just took a tumble
And landed on his knee-
"Oh my gracious," said I
"You're as bad as me!"
"Oh no," said he, to me
(But actually not in verse)
"I'm not as bad as ye," said he,
"For much more ye are worse!"

I had so much I intended
To get done today
But then my puppy wanted to play...
Her fur is so soft -just like silk so fine
And soon I had passed
Quite a bit of time.
I meant to dust the house but then
My other furry girl came in
With eyes so bright and full of fun
That I had to dance with this little one...
Soon the day was getting late
And the pups wanted bits of what I ate
And then I had to rub each tummy
And watch them enjoy food so yummy...
Each of them made me smile and laugh
And I gave each one a much needed bath..
But tomorrow is another day
And the dust and laundry won't go away
But just like babies, puppies grow up so fast
While memories of a lovely pup filled day will last... and last ...and last

Mmmmm. Smiley-face!

Woke up to the rhythmic sound of rain
Falling on my roof and on the window pane
Instead of getting up, I snuggled down again.
With two furry little doglets
I lay there nice and warm to cuddle
Now I must convince them to go outside
Before they too create a puddle...

I have a very serious side
And though I may not be profound
I do take seriously
Various matters that I've found.
But sometimes I start smiling
And you've seen it, I have no doubt
I have to write a bit of verse
That lets the silliness out!
