I have a brand new song this morning
That I have yet to sing
I want the world to know
That Jesus is still King!

Times are tough all over
The world is falling apart
Yet there are those who can smile
For Jesus owns their heart!

There are those who know the secret
To living in joy each day
Those who prepare for His coming
When they shall fly away.

God has not shared the hour or date
Not even Heaven's angels know
But those who in God have placed their trust
Seek always to be ready to go!

Keep your hearts pure and free from sin
Avoid those who try to drag you down
Look forward to Homecoming Day
And stars on your Heavenly crown!

I see the authors of self help books
Livin' high on the hog
While I spend my money on their words
And I'm stuck here on this log...
If I wrote a self help book
Only one word it would say
On each and every single page
Would be this one word
"PRAY"

They set there on the shelves
Those "Great Books" bought years ago
Back when we thought their bindings would show
What great tastes we had in reading
And say a bit about our breeding.
The spines of most are unbroken
And some have pages needing to be cut apart
While there are others resting near them
That really spoke to my heart.
Their spines are broken and some have crumbs inside
Some have lost pages from being left open wide...
While others suffered a terrible bathtub fate
Or accidentally had a swim in the lake.
Then there are the study books
With pages written upon and underlined
With some an unmarked page is hard to find.
And gently resting near my bed
Is the best book I ever read
For in it is God's salvation plan
To save our souls when we reach for His hand...
