Diamonds

She's as beautiful as a diamond 
And she's got the cuts like one too
But sometimes she feels like she's in a glass case waiting to be used
Her life at home isn't much better than the life that's showing
And there's a guy she knows she'd like to call her own
she sees him as love
He just sees her as a fling
and he's got her wrapped around his finger like a ring
after years and years of pressure her heart's been hardened to pain and losing will to get loose
but shes caught up in love and she wont be moved!
Shes pawned herself out!
selling herself short!
and every time her happiness grows shes forced to abort it
her hearts a house
but it needs home!
she needs peace
she needs some hope!


When I met her I saw a diamond that's been in the rough
I touched her scars and said "what an exquisite cut"
And I told her that she's beautiful! 
That she's worth way more than she thinks!
That she's not defined by the choices she's made!
I told her if he's a man he would see you're a diamond
And if he doesn't like your cut he doesn't deserve anything 
i told her that i know that it hurts!
that ive been there too
That sometimes in life it feels like you're living to lose

And I got an answer.....
He was there the whole time just waiting 
Waiting for me to stop trying

His name is Jesus
He healed my heart
and He's standing there waiting to kiss your scars
He made you a diamond
and brags about your beauty
So if you would stop trying
And ask Him truly...

These...the kind of diamonds which cannot be measured by karats.
