I wish I had a mom to call
When my day is going badly
But that she's been gone a lot of years
My heart remembers sadly.

I wish I had a mom to write
To send birthday cards and letters
Little bouquets of flowers
To say I wouldn't forget her...

I wish I had a mom to hug
And that I could gently kiss her
I hope she sees from Heaven's shores
How much I love and miss her...

I would not call her back to earth
Even if the Father would let it be
For the thing that brings joy back to my heart
Is the thought of Heaven's eternity.
