Red Jello

having difficulty
can't see clearly
the glass is smudged
the brain is foggy

all alone
fans are humming
red jello melts
the heat is searing

thoughts fade
e're they come to fruition
my own fault i know
sugar free jello yields no nutrition

no rhyme nor reason
for this little diddy
must remember fresh water
for neighbors little kitty

could fry an egg on the porch
soon time to light citronella torch
note to self when to heaven i go
ask God why He made pesky little mosquitoes

i remind myself He knows best
while i scratch and itch
eyelids drooping breath grows shallow
heat no excuse for heart so fallow

come close to hear these simple words
God made the bees and the birds
there is a wrong and there is a right
two things unable to hold tight

number one, relevancy we can never nail down
it moves quickly from town to town
number two, slips through our fingers onto the big toe
more jiggly than relevancy, none other than...red jello

I can really relate to this, love it. I want to share with you what I was in the middle of writing just before reading this, I had put my pen down and gone to the store, came back and looked on the site and read this poem of your's and I was blown away!
Here's a rough draft of what I started to write, tell me if it is not uncanny?


"standing water
stagnation abounds
mosquitoe larvae flit about
algae proliferates
what was once clear
clouded and murky
in dark pools

this rain that fell so clear
bringing life and hope
to a landscape sere
they walk for miles
to find you
to collect and gather...."
(this is as far as I got)

That is very uncanny!
They are like twins separated at birth....meeting for the first time.
Looking forward to the finished work
