See Healing

I closed my eyes and took a breath
And thats when I saw it
My name
Carved on His flesh

Salty tears stung my eyes
Unable to comprehend
As the one I loved hung
Shamed with my pain

"My dear, but why do you feel
you deserve this more than I?
You see, while hanging on the cross
It is for you I die.

"Why do you feel you don't deserve to heal?
Even though it is for you I take this kneel

"The pain I took before I was laid in the grave,
It is nothing compared
to seeing you hurt day-to-day

"Your life is worth more than you know
For when I died
Our Father made you part of my geno"

So now when I look at my scars
I don't see hurt
I don't see mistakes
Or ghosts of the past

But now I see healing
I see what Jesus did for me
For in Heaven
He will be the only one with scars

Beautiful is He who has healed with His scars.
