Lord, Get Me Through the Day...

Lord when I am so tired and weary
And can't find the strength to pray
I trust You Lord, to be my source of strength
And to get me through the day.

In times of petty persecution
When those who don't love you as they ought
Take advantage of my good nature
And call me things I know I'm not...

When those I thought were friends of mine
Seem to have no good things to say
To defend me as friends should do,
Lord, Please get me through the day.

When illness comes and hits so hard
That I feel all joy drain away
Help me to find that joy again
And Lord, get me through the day.

When I feel sorry for myself
And disregard others' sadness and pain
Help me to remember whose I am
And help them to smile again.

Lord, You are my hope, my strength
You are the Truth, the Life, the Way
And I thank You Father God
For getting me through each day!
