Birth to Death

My heart is like a barren slope
Where neither plants nor trees do grow
Where the cold wind blows across my mind
Scattering all thoughts and hope
Once my heart held a warm red glow
And thoughts of love prevailed
As though through a golden mist
I watched as life itself unveiled.
My mind glad tidings did recall
With the new and tender dawn
What debt we each one owe
For happiness and love for all
Then the mist was lifted and the seasons changed
And life and love were split asunder
The light went out for the sun was gone
And my heart grew weary of the burden it was under
When the sun goes down
The wind does blow
And love won’t grow
On the barren slopes of winter.

I hear a bit of a Shakespearean touch in this one. Great work! I love this one.

Don't fret... I've been heart broken too... and one thing I know in my short years, is that Jesus heals all... And there will always be another reason to smile!
